BACKGROUND

Can you relate to not having enough time to play golf, let alone keep your game sharp and in tune?  You love the game, but you get bored banging balls aimlessly at the driving range.  You love hanging out with friends after work but there's just not enough time to play a round of golf and still make it home for dinner to spend time with your special loved ones.  As a family man, a single digit golfer, a volunteer high school coach, and an avid league team tennis player our founder wanted to make 18 holes of golf readily available within an hour to play with friends when 4 to 5 hours for 18 holes just wasn't available.   The solution was a new game at the driving range, and IGOLPING was born.  Why the name?  Real golf is playing on a golf course, IGOLPING is playing at the driving range with an "I"nteractive touch screen kiosk where the "GOL" is the "PIN"!

In the 1980's a group of engineers and golf enthusiasts formed a microwave telecommunications company that supplied microwave components for the Patriot Missile, B1 bombers, and other military programs.  These systems were at times tested by hitting golf balls off the back of aircraft carriers.  With that in mind our founder, Doug Sumaraga use to say, "if we can track and shoot down a scud missile, we can surely track a golf ball at the driving range!"  After 24 years of experience from Fortune 50 companies to bringing hi-tech manufacturing and software start-up companies to profits, Doug patented a golf system that seamlessly integrates the best of technologies making it readily available at the golf driving range.  With the vision in place a team of friends came together with the right business skillsets, an extreme passion for golf, and the belief in the pursuit of fun!
